Dewa United Arena represents more than a sports facility. As the home base of Dewa United (or known as Home of Anak Dewa), Banten-based club competing across football, basketball, and e-sport, the complex is also an investment in how the next generation of Indonesian athletes trains, lives, and develops.

This project was recognised at the IndoBuildTech Architecture Prize 2026 for the Sports Facilities category on July 11th, 2026 at IndoBuildTech Awards 2026 in ICE BSD, Tangerang.

Pandega Desain Weharima (PDW) approached the project with that responsibility in mind. The design integrates training facilities built to international standards, a FIFA-standard football pitch and an IBL-standard basketball court with a capacity of 2,000 spectators, with athlete accommodation and communal spaces designed for the full experience of living and training in one place, not just athletic performance, but the quality of daily life. Natural ventilation, daylighting, and semi-open communal areas were considered not as added features, but as foundational to an environment where athletes spend extended periods of time.

The complex organises the 27,487 m² site around a "Sport Hub" concept, connecting training, social, and commercial activity within a single, coherent environment. Green infrastructure, local vegetation, and permeable surfaces were integrated throughout, reflecting an understanding that a high-performing sports environment also needs to work with its surroundings, not against them.

The success of managing such a large-scale ecosystem highlights the essential role of the architect as an integrator, navigating complex decisions alongside diverse stakeholders to build impactful environments. For a professional club building toward national relevance in Indonesia, the quality of its built environment matters, and this project reflects PDW's belief that good design is part of what the long-term development of Indonesian sporting talent looks like.
