Commercial Development Groundbreaking in Alam Sutera

Pandega Desain Weharima’s (PDW) latest commercial project celebrated its groundbreaking ceremony in Alam Sutera on June 8th, 2026. The PDW team was represented by Architects Chico Danisworo and Bayu Rachmandana, alongside the Client’s team and project consultants.

A groundbreaking ceremony was officially held in Alam Sutera, marking the start of construction for a new commercial development designed on a 4,158 sqm site. The project is planned as a compact, easily accessible space tailored to meet the daily needs and lifestyle of the fast-paced local urban community. To see how these elements combine, you can explore the full architectural visualization and design renders.

Collaborative Milestone and Attendance

The ceremony served as a key coordination milestone, attended by the client's technical team alongside the project's specialized consultants. Representing PDW’s Architecture Team Chico Danisworo (our Design Principal) and Bayu Rachmandana (our Design Associate), were present to celebrate the commencement of the physical construction phase, reinforcing the team's commitment to overseeing the design's realization from layout planning through onsite execution.

The development features a building footprint of approximately 2,000 square meters, utilizing an organic perimeter mass shaped directly by site setback lines. On-site motorized vehicle circulation is managed internally to minimize external traffic congestion on nearby roads. The layout integrates a dedicated green area acting as a rainwater infiltration zone to support the local microclimate, alongside supportive active mobility infrastructure consisting of bicycle paths and parking. For safety, the ground floor open space is fully integrated with designated fire engine access routes.

Architectural Character and Interior Zoning

The exterior design combines linear, organic, and simple horizontal lines to introduce a bold building character to the Alam Sutera skyline. Facade openings are strategically positioned to maximize tenant visibility and establish an open impression, while silver and bronze accents paired with targeted lighting articulate the separation between the envelope's solid and transparent sides.

Internally, the compact layout arranges five distinct retail categories: grocery, tech, home decor, wellness, and FnB. The main lobby incorporates a double-volume scale that creates a grand feel within a limited space, acting as a visual anchor that connects the three primary tenants across floors 1 and 2. The upper retail spaces focus on high functionality, incorporating a central visual void that connects floors 4 and 5. The dedicated FnB and wellness zone features a central communal area anchored by a natural skylight over the escalator network to optimize interior daylighting.
